So I posted some of my fic, including an Anakin/Obi-Wan one-shot that involves issues of control and Anakin basically pinning Obi-Wan up against the wall. It's about sex and courage and submission, and it's labelled slash and it's R-rated. Now, logically, what do you think will happen when you see a pairing, a warning for slash and an R rating?
Right, sex, me too. Which is why the only review I've gotten to-date on the thing makes no sense:
Lol! I think I was blundering around the website and did not see the slash part... I like it... I mean I skipped the Obi-Wan/Anakin part but I liked everything else! O_o Out of curiousity, why would you make Anakin and Obi-Wan together...?
Um, hello? Buy a clue, please? If you hadn't skipped the slash, you'd know why it was, oh, in the piece.

Okay, so I posted chapter 15b/17 (my count/Ffnet's count) of "Times Present, Times Past" (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/741935/1/) on Sunday ... and the latest review I got reads as follows:

Forget the first part. So she doesn't like my writing. *shrugs* Big fat hairy deal, I can live with that quite easily.
However, the second half of this, I must confess, makes absolutely no sense to me. I'm "not down"? On what? Where? I have no idea whether my confusion is either due to English not being my native language (there are a few slang expressions I'm not readily familiar with), or whether it's an age thing -- me being well out of my teens/twenties causing me to be unconversant with youthful vernacular.
I'd have asked the reviewer in person, but that's impossible on account of not being given an email address. So I'm asking you guys -- what does it mean?!?
Help, please!

Got this today and found it amusing. Someone reviewing my "Digimon Slayers" series. Nifty little Slayers/Digimon world-merging thing I've been playing around with for a while. See what they had to say about it:

THIS IS A CHEAP COPY OF ONE OF THE TV EPISODES.
It was a missing scene vignette from 'Paradise Lost.' So, uh, yeah, it drew on a lot of things from one of the TV episodes. Copy? No? Cheap? Well, I didn't pay for it, but I'm not making money from it either...
If anyone around here can explain this one to me, I'll be pretty grateful, because I have this big "WTF?" floating in the air above my head.

My one semi-regular reviewer is working hard to destroy what little faith in the human race I have left. This gem came from the story I recently took down.
Yum Yum Gar/Sak...I hope they do that more..longer..how about if he for some strange reason has to torture her to prove his loyalty ..and she cries and screams for hours but he doesn't really damage her body he just gets her screaming and all for a whole bunch of other physical reasons really maybe some other time? I'll cross my fingers.

This brought about a rant comprised mostly of four-letter words. The fact that this person has been prowling my fandom making similar requests to other authors doesn't help things in the least bit.
And oh, yeah, the fic in question had been finished (and marked as such) for months before.

This isn't a complain, this is the virtual headshaking that happens when someone completely misses the point. (Yes, dear, that sharp, ouchy thing? That's the point...)
My story 'Greener Grass' (at the Pit) is a Justice League (animated) AU/What If? I thought I made this pretty clear in the story, however, I received this response among the reviews:
"But wait...Bats' parents are six feet under...u gotta fix that! Otherwise good job!"
Erm. The point of the story was that Bats' parents were not six feet under, therefore there was no Batman...
Oye. *headdesk*
I mean, I'm glad she liked it, I just have this itty bitty feeling that she didn't quite get it...

That one was funny because the reviewer posted it four times on the same chapter, unsigned. It made me laugh sooo much.
That was really good. I hope, that is if you are going to have couples,
that you put Mina with Trowa cuz they are so cute together and Rei with
Heero cuz they are cute too and hopefully you don't put him with Serena
there are too many of those and I just don't see them together but you
do what you want to do. Well, I hope you get the next chapter out soon.
HUM. I wonder do you have any idea what a run-on sentence is I
don't think you do but that's okay because it doesn't matter after all
it's only destroying the bastardized language that English is and
you've apparently never run into me before I don't appreciate couple
recommendations and anyway it was a one-shot, DURR. That was fun. ^^

I think its hilarious when people ask me to add more to a story that is
obviously a one-shot. Hell, I even identify it at the beginning and end
in author's notes, but apparently no one reads those anymore! *laughs*

Received one piece of feedback today for a story that was, on the whole, more or less positive, but took me severely to task for including "the nudie parts with Buffy and Angel. I am not a prude but I don't think we needed to see that."
For those curious, the one R-rated scene in the whole fic is here. It's not NC-17, as I'd figure the term, and in the great perverted world of fanfic, this is not really that dirty. Only one of the characters is even "nudie," and that only at the very end of the scene.
I also got a note a couple weeks back that said all my work was too angsty and depressing, and asked -- I quote -- "whether there are no lilies or bunnies in your soul."
I shall have to search for them.

I just got this on my fic, " Southern Fried Paris.
Pretty funny, though I'd rather not see swearwords spelled out. (I'm a visual learner from words.)
You might want to elaborate a bit more on it, though. I found it a little confusing from point to point. :)
I'm not sure what swear words she's talking about since the story really doesn't have any and if it did, what should I do instead? Substitute 'h-e-double hockey sticks' or 'd---' and how the reader doesn't think I mean 'doll' or 'dose'? I'm also wondering what it means to be 'a visual learner from words.' More importantly, I'd also like to know what exactly is confusing in this story.

Some people just... I wonder about them. Like, is it too hard to type things correctly, dot your I's and cross your t's? Our keyboards do it for us most of the time. But the gross misspelling/slang... it doesn't do anything for me.
